چکیده
Abstract We investigated the origin of n-type thermoelectric properties in single-wall carbon nanotube (SWCNT) films with anionic surfactants via experimental analyses and first-principles calculations. Several types were employed to fabricate SWCNT drop-casting, followed by heat treatment at various temperatures. In particular, sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate (SDBS) surfactant heated 350 °C exhibited a longer retention period, wherein Seebeck coefficient lasted for maximum 35 days. x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, SDBS larger amount than oxygen on surface. The electronic band structure density states SWCNTs atoms, molecules, water sulfur atoms analyzed using calculations showed that molecules moved Fermi level closer conduction valence bands, respectively. oxygen, did not affect level. Therefore, when interaction between was SWCNTs.

Experimental measurement of single-wall carbon nanotube torsional properties.
We report on the characterization of nanometer-scale torsional devices based on individual single-walled carbon nanotubes as the spring elements. The axial shear moduli of the nanotubes are obtained through modeling of device reaction to various amounts of applied electrostatic force and are compared to theoretical values.
متن کاملAlignment enhanced photoconductivity in single wall carbon nanotube films.
In this paper we report, for the first time, the alignment enhanced photoconductivity of single wall carbon nanotube films upon laser illumination. The photoconductivity exhibited an increase, decrease or even 'negative' values when the laser spot was on different positions between contact electrodes, showing a 'position' dependent photoconductivity of partially aligned films of carbon nanotube...
متن کاملStructural anisotropy of magnetically aligned single wall carbon nanotube films
Thick films of aligned single wall carbon nanotubes and ropes have been produced by filtration/ deposition from suspension in strong magnetic fields. We measured mosaic distributions of rope orientations in the film plane, for samples of different thicknesses. For an ;1 mm film the full width at half maximum ~FWHM! derived from electron diffraction is 25° – 28°. The FWHM of a thicker film (;7 m...
متن کاملElectrical and thermal transport properties of magnetically aligned single wall carbon nanotube films
Dense, thick films of aligned single wall carbon nanotubes and nanotube ropes have been produced by filtration/deposition from suspension in strong magnetic fields. Electrical resistivity exhibits moderate anisotropy with respect to the alignment axis, while the thermopower is the same when measured parallel or perpendicular to this axis. Both parameters have identical temperature dependencies ...
متن کاملMagnetically aligned single wall carbon nanotube films: preferred orientation and anisotropic transport properties
Thick films of single wall carbon nanotubes ~SWNT! exhibiting in-plane preferred orientation have been produced by filter deposition from suspension in strong magnetic fields. We characterize the field-induced alignment with x-ray fiber diagrams and polarized Raman scattering, using a model which includes a completely unaligned fraction. We correlate the texture parameters with resistivity and ...
